Own a robotaxi in Houston without running one.
Loop Fleet handles the cleaning, charging, inspections, claims, and paperwork for autonomous ride-hailing cars. You own the car. We keep it earning.
Where things stand
Robotaxi ownership is real but early, and the rules for owner cars haven't been published. Here's the current picture, plainly.

Which exit is yours?
Three quick questions. We'll point you to the right path.
Do you own a Tesla today?
How much time do you want to spend on it each week?
What's your budget to get started?
What we handle
A robotaxi drives itself. Everything else still needs a person. Final scope will match what Tesla allows third parties to do for owner cars.
Enrollment and setup
LLC guidance, commercial insurance quotes, network enrollment, and a charging plan.
Daily cleaning
Interior reset, weekly exterior wash, and fast response when a rider leaves a mess.
Charging and uptime
Off-peak charging so the car is ready when demand peaks.
Inspections
Camera lenses, tires, cabin, and body checked on schedule, with photos in your report.
Damage and claims
We document incidents, coordinate repairs, and work the claim for you.
Payouts and reporting
Monthly statement with rides, revenue, costs, and mileage. Year-end numbers for your tax preparer.
Built around uptime
A car parked dirty or half-charged isn't earning. Our job is to get each car cleaned, charged, and back on the road fast, and to show you exactly what happened in your monthly report.
How it works
Free consult
We look at your car, budget, and goals, and tell you plainly whether a robotaxi makes sense for you.

Already own an eligible Tesla? We get it ready. Buying? We help you choose the trim and financing.

What could one car earn?
Owner terms aren't public, so this is a scenario model, not a promise. Start from a preset, then move the sliders.

Prefer to own and run it yourself?
Good. Here's the path we'd follow with our own money, starting from $25,000 in cash.
Form an LLC and get an EIN
Keep the car, insurance, and income in a business entity with its own checking account from day one.
Get on Tesla's list
Submit the Robotaxi interest form at tesla.com/robotaxi/interest under your LLC name. It costs nothing and isn't a purchase order.
The form only lets you pick one interest area. If you plan to buy cars, choose Cybercab fleet vehicle purchasing and mention anything else in Additional Information.
Pick your car and your timing
Option A: buy an AI4 Model Y now, drive it yourself, and rent it out while you wait. Option B: keep cash liquid and buy Cybercabs once Tesla publishes fleet pricing. Don't buy an HW3 car for this.
Line up insurance before you buy
Personal auto policies typically exclude commercial use. Get commercial or rideshare quotes first. Insurance can decide whether the math works.
Set up charging
A Level 2 home charger on an off-peak plan keeps electricity cheap. Budget extra if your panel needs work.
Enroll when terms are public
Read the revenue split, insurance requirements, and liability terms before you switch the car on. Then track every ride and cost monthly.
AI4 Model Y Standard, financed
| Down payment | $10,000 |
| Level 2 charger and install | $1,500 |
| LLC, EIN, operating agreement | $1,000 |
| Insurance and setup buffer | $2,500 |
| Cash reserve, about 6 months of payments | $10,000 |
| Total | $25,000 |
|---|
About $44,000 to $45,000 out the door in Texas. The car still works for you as a personal vehicle or rental, whatever Tesla decides.
Two Cybercabs, if priced near $30,000
| Down payment on two cars, about 20% | $13,000 |
| LLC and legal review of fleet terms | $1,500 |
| Insurance and setup buffer | $3,500 |
| Cash reserve | $7,000 |
| Total | $25,000 |
|---|
Depends on a price Tesla hasn't confirmed and on lenders financing a car with no steering wheel. Keep the cash liquid and earning interest while you wait.
Know the risks
Platform control
Tesla sets the price, the split, and which cars get rides. Terms can change after you buy.
Depreciation
High-mileage EVs lose value fast. A car driving 3,000 miles a month ages quickly.
Regulation
Federal safety reviews and state rules can slow or pause service with little notice.
Timing
Owner access has been promised before. Plan for delays and don't stretch your budget on a date.
Insurance
Commercial coverage for autonomous use is new and priced accordingly.
Competition
Waymo, Uber's partners, and Tesla's own fleet compete for the same riders.
Questions
Can I add my Tesla to the Robotaxi network today?
No. As of September 2026, only Tesla-owned cars run on the network. We'll email the waitlist as soon as owner enrollment opens in Houston.
How do I know if my car is eligible?
On the touchscreen, go to Controls, Software, Additional Vehicle Information and look for the computer version. HW3 cars can't run unsupervised. AI4 cars are the ones to plan around.
Do you sell shares in robotaxis?
No. You own or finance your car directly. Loop Fleet provides services for a fee and never pools investor money into vehicles.
What does Standby actually do?
We co-host your Tesla on a peer-to-peer rental platform, handle guests, cleaning, and charging, and get the car ready to join the network when enrollment opens.
What if Tesla's revenue split makes the numbers worse?
Plans are month to month. We'll rerun your numbers when terms are published, and you can cancel if it no longer makes sense.
Are you affiliated with Tesla?
No. Loop Fleet is an independent Houston company that services cars owned by our clients.
